Training & Handling ...

Here at QUOJA, all of our dogs are trained from day one. Obviously you cannot treat a puppy in the same way as an adult dog, but the basics are still the same. Firm voice to correct the dog, or to prevent it from unwanted behaviour, and a light positive voice to praise the dog when it has done well.

Jenny also helps to run the Shires K9 Club in Coventry. This is an all-breed friendly club, where alot of emphasis is put on socialising the puppy from when it can be taken outdoors to going on to do basic and competitive obedience. There is also a night for ringcraft, where, again, it is for all-breeds.

We firmly believe that all dogs should attend training to some degree, even if it is only on a socialisation level. ANY dog in the wrong hands can be dangerous, but unfortunately this magnificent breed has come under a lot of scrutiny and bad press in recent times. We owe it to the breed to ensure that their image is a positive one.

The rottweiler, as a breed, is incredibly versatile. Generally they are eager to learn and please, and pick things up quickly. Once you have their trust, they will do anything for you.

Rottweilers make excellent obedience dogs, and love agility. They are a working breed, and need as much mental stimulation as physical. We find the more variety of things they do, whether it be basic obedience, swimming, tracking or just pratting around with a tennis ball or two, the more they want to do.
